Brighter Futures for the Last Mile
EduCube delivers innovative, technology-driven learning to underserved communities through solar-powered digital learning hubs — bringing quality education to the last mile across Sierra Leone.
The Problem
Sierra Leone faces one of the most acute educational access crises in Sub-Saharan Africa. Despite significant progress in recent years, systemic barriers continue to keep millions of children out of quality learning environments.
What This Looks Like
- Over 85% of the population lacks basic digital literacy.
- Fewer than 10% of schools have access to computers or the internet.
- Climate disasters regularly destroy school infrastructure, displacing thousands of learners.
- Chronic shortage of qualified and trained teachers in rural areas.
- Deep gender inequality continues to push girls out of education, particularly at secondary level.
